Owner: Alma Molina
Organization: Projekt Cars
There are some wonderful traditions which are passed down from father to son. In Mexico, almost every young boy dreams of one day driving his own Silverado just like his Dad or Uncles’. The young ladies, on the other hand, look forward to be taken on dates on such a masculine truck. Alma Molina was a little different; her dream was to be in the driver seat of her own Chevy icon. After many months spent burning the midnight oil, she obtained her nursing license and purchased a basic Chevrolet model. This small compact was traded in after a year working her trade for a new Silverado 1500 with all the bells and whistles; it’s first modification, a Magnaflow rear dual-exit exhaust of course. Soon after, she received the shiny new intake from K&N, model 77-3082KP, which was installed the night it arrived.
Being the wife of a “mod Freak” provided her the opportunity to have the vehicle featured in the RevTek Suspension booth at SEMA 2014. The 1500 will be augmented with various other improvements prior to the expo. All-in all, the vehicle received over $25K in modifications, all installed a month before SEMA.
The interior received a gorgeous leather and suede upgrade by Katzkin, stitched in pink, with an audio system from Vibe that will rival many of the other vehicles on display. The leveling kit from Revtek were needed for the Mamba Offroad wheels and aggressive Toyo Tires, which provided more grip in the southwest desert. Stopping power is handled by R1 Concepts rotors and ceramic pads that are augmented by one-off MGP Caliper Covers with Projekt Cars logo. Bushwhacker fender flares, painted magenta pink, add a beefy yet feminine touch to the body lines, while a Magnaflow exhaust and SCT Tune supply more horses to be distributed by the K&N intake. Massive Fusion Bumpers adorn the front and rear, with ample LED lighting from Legit Accessories, while her access into the Chevy beast are be assisted by automatic AMP Research steps. Not forgetting her feminine appeal, the Silverado has more hints of magenta pink accents throughout the body, supplied by Coast2Coast Kustomz, of El Paso.
This may not be the Silverado her family in Juarez, Mexico envisioned, but it is her own design; the realization of a long awaited dream.
